You may request public records in person, via
mail, e-mail, phone or fax by using the contact information below.
Requests for records from the City of Mountlake Terrace should
be directed to the city’s Records Officer at City Hall.
For written requests, you may download the Public Records
request form and mail it or bring it to the city facility
you are requesting the record from. Requests for Police records
should be directed to the Mountlake Terrace Police Department
using the Police records request form attached below.
Upon receiving
a request for records, the city will respond by either (1)
providing the record; (2) acknowledging receipt of the request
and providing a reasonable estimate of the time the city will
need to respond to the request; or (3) denying the public
records request. Additional time may be required to respond
to a request because of the need to seek clarification of
what information is needed, to locate and assemble the information
requested, to notify third parties or agencies affected by
the request or to determine whether any of the information
requested is exempt and that a denial should be made as to
all or part of the request. (RCW 42.56.520)
