Our team of energetic, creative and experienced instructors create a safe, warm and positive environment for your child to learn, play, and grow. We have three great options from which to choose.


Preschool (Ages 3-4)

Children are encouraged to explore using all their senses through developmentally appropriate individual and group activities in a safe, nurturing and fun environment. These activities include creative expression through art, movement, dramatic play and language opportunities, hands-on math and science experiences, arts and crafts projects, community field trips, and enhancement opportunities that include dance and/or swimming. Preschool runs monthly, September through June. 

Kindergarten Readiness (Ages 4-5)

Kindergarten Readiness is currently FULL for both 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 school years. Please email to be added to the waitlist. 

Similar to our Preschool program with extra time spent on curriculum preparing children for a Kindergarten setting. Children eligible for Kindergarten in Fall of 2022 will not be accepted. Kindergarten Readiness runs monthly, September through June. 

Junior Kids Krew (Ages 3-5)

Junior Kids Krew is currently full. Please email to be added to the waiting list. 

Same great program as our Preschool & Kindergarten Readiness classes, with more flexibility to accommodate the needs of working families. Includes bimonthly recreation swim, Preschool and/or Kindergarten Readiness activities, dance and more. Care is available Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, with a maximum of 10 hours a day. Hurry - Space is limited. Program is certified by Washington State Department of Early Learning. DSHS subsidies accepted. Children eligible for Kindergarten in Fall of 2022 will not be accepted. Junior Kids Krew runs monthly, September through August.

Program Safety

Childcare services are considered essential under the current phase of the “Safe Start” reopening plan. Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks are following all guidelines and taking several precautions to keep children and families safe while attending child care programs. Some of the measures in place are:

  • Frequent cleaning, sanitizing, and hand washing
  • All staff and children five and older are required to wear a mask
  • Children are split into small groups when possible
  • Physical distancing is encouraged
  • Temperature/health checks at check-in
  • Contact tracing program
