The Comprehensive Plan contains a Housing Element (chapter) that summarizes key housing information within the City of Mountlake Terrace. Select household characteristics, the housing stock, housing affordability, and housing needs are included. The element contains goals and policies to support a diversity of housing types, satisfying a range of household incomes. This assures that housing and neighborhoods are attractive and that housing has walking access to transportation and community services.
Housing Affordability The City of Mountlake Terrace has been a regional proponent for affordable housing and was instrumental in the formation of the Alliance for Housing Affordability (AHA). The AHA is a consortium of 13 jurisdictions in Snohomish County that seek to identify the issues, impediments and successful approaches to addressing the current and future needs for affordable housing at all income levels.
