The Mountlake Terrace Police Department is an integral part of a residential community in South Snohomish County that was incorporated in 1954. With a population of 21,980, in approximately four square miles, it is one of the more densely populated suburban communities in the area. The city is in a state of transition as the downtown is being revitalized with a Town Center Plan, several transit projects and a light rail link. The growth, the change, and the proximity to Seattle make Mountlake Terrace an ideal place to start a career. The Department is currently compromised of 28 commissioned officers and 8 civilian staff. Mountlake Terrace Police Department has a dedication to community involvement, with programs such as the Community Outreach Program, National Night Out, Shop with a Cop, and Tour de Terrace.
